The World Mirror

Violence is increasing
everything in sight is being blown up and shot
Violence is increasing
even sexual assault is affecting more
Terrorists are scaring people
with bombs and daggers
Violence is increasing
you go from bad to worse
even in close relationships
where many people are getting hurt
Violence is increasing
as far as the eye can see
we don't want to see it anymore
The war industry is making more money
War in country after country
where peace is being disgraced.
Has violence come to stay
because we no longer care about each other?
Violence is increasing
as far as the eye can see
we don't want to see it anymore.

Powerful men want more
grab everything they see
land and minerals
because there is no defense
Now that they themselves are making up
with their bold coup
without regard for the kingdoms of others
they disappoint many
Powerful men
show no consideration
act like this every day
They build alliances
take land and minerals
If only they had understood
that their lives are so short
This is nothing new
that they don't care about others
These men will soon be no more
an end they can count on
What have they gained
when everything has disappeared?
Only their ashes and bones are left
lying in the grave of oblivion.
If only they had understood
that their lives are so short.

[Verse 1]
In the shadows where we tread,
Sits a foe with a silent thread,
Striking hard, it knows no bounds,
No escape, it's lurking around.
Oh, it's true, this darkness knows,
Every heart, every soul, it shows,
The legacy we cannot shake,
A fate that all of us must face.
[Chorus]
What if our enemy ceased to be,
That spirit haunting you and me?
Death is the name, the end of the game,
Touching young and old just the same.
[Verse 2]
It whispers low in the night so deep,
To the children who laugh, to the dreams that sleep,
No one is safe from its cruel embrace,
It's a gamble in this cosmic race.
You can try to run, but you can't disguise,
When death comes knocking with cold, grey eyes.
[Chorus]
What if our enemy ceased to be,
That spirit haunting you and me?
Death is the name, the end of the game,
Touching young and old just the same.
[Bridge]
Sometimes it feels like a dark release,
For those who suffer, it could bring peace,
Yet for those left behind in love's warm light,
The wounds remain, haunting the night.
Feelings of grief, they wrap like chains,
Making each heartbeat echo with pain.
[Verse 3]
When the end arrives, it's hard to understand,
Why it comes stealthy, unplanned, unplanned.
It creeps in quietly, takes you by surprise,
Leaving memories that linger, in our goodbyes.
May this shadow teach us, to live with intent,
Embrace every moment, while our time is spent.
[Chorus]
What if our enemy ceased to be,
That spirit haunting you and me?
Death is the name, the end of the game,
Touching young and old just the same.
[Outro]
So take a breath, hold it dear,
Life's fleeting dance, let go of the fear,
For in the end, we're all entwined,
In this journey of love, we've left behind.
May death bring us closer, and teach us to care,
To cherish each day, 'cause we're all here to share.
